This Just In From One Of Our English Team Mates! Dan Greenwood

The last two days we've had 2wd and 4wd regional races at Bury Metro in Manchester. What a weekend, highs and lows.

4wd was ups and downs. Paul Bradby (worlds A finalist) simply ran and hid in qualifying so the rest of us were fighting for the rest. I only finished 2 runs (more on that in a minute) so I qualified 5th. I had a terrible start, but within a lap had made 2nd behind Paul. I then followed until he made a mistake and ran 4th until about 4 1/2 minutes in, during which time I had to defend my line like never before. I cannot give Paul enough credit for not tagging me once!!! At 4 1/2 minutes I ran wide on a damp concrete corner and let through Paul and another lad,Tom. I managed to stay in touch and 2 corners from home tried the most outrageous move I've ever done. Essentially I ramped a jump you normally always tip toe over andI flew past Paul and over Tom. The last corner is a banked one and I was on the outside line. Myself and Tom literally power slid in tandem around the last corner, but I held it and won by a fraction. If I sound excited it's because this was the single best race of my life. We all came off and couldn't stop talking about it for ages. Anyway, it means after one round I also lead our 4wd regional series for the first time ever, so all in I'm VERY chuffed.

Cheers,
