Brian Kinwald Returns To The Drivers' Stand!

On Memorial Day weekend, while most of us were barbequing and watching the Indy 500, an event occured which we have anticipated for almost two years: Brian Kinwald returned to the drivers' stand.  In July of 2005, the illness from which Brian has suffered since he was a teenager took a turn for the worst, and Brian was forced to return home in the middle of the Hot Rod Hobbies Shootout.  Until last Monday, he had been unable to touch his transmitter.

"Kinwald arrives at the track in style."

The Dirtinator in his element.

In November of last year Brian found new doctors and has begun a new treatment program which is paying big dividends.  Brian climbed back up on the stand during a private X Factory test session over Memorial Day weekend.  It was great to see the world's most famous paint scheme flying around the track once again.  While it is clear that Brian is rusty, the big smile on his face is all that we needed to see.

Frank and Paul both watch as Brian shows that he still has it!

Kinwald's X-5 was dialed!
.

So long as Brian's health continues to improve, he expectes to begin driving regularly again. He will not make his race debut immediately, but Brian hopes to return to the races sometime in 2007.

Dirt Flies!!!!!

Frank Root's X-6 takes a tight line.

Paul "The Graduate" Sinclair lays it down with the X-6

He lays it down in the pits as well.
Keep wrenching Paul.
