Kit as the ultimate hop-up.
Losi's xx-4 is the best-handling R/C car in the world, but it's 3-belt drive system limits acceleration and makes the car hard to work on. The xxx-4 accelerates very well and is easier to work on, but, especially on rough tracks, it handles poorly. Design improvements in the X -5 single-belt system make it freer and easier to work on than the xxx-4 while retaining the rocket acceleration. xx-4 suspension and steering parts bolt right on in their exact position. The 4 + 2 battery pack and motor are positioned in the X - 5 to duplicate the xx-4's weight distribution to each wheel. The X - 5 is very easy to drive fast, just like a xx-4. You will have lots of fun racing rather than concentrating on your own car. Again like a xx-4, the X - 5 forgives small mistakes. If you clip the pipe you won't automatically break a control arm. If the two right wheels are thrown into the air by a bump, there's a decent chance you'll come down on your wheels. (Head-on into the wall is not a "small mistake!) And the X - 5 accelerates!!! Down the straight right with the xxx-4s, stay outside on the power longer, then cut inside through the corner! YES!! |
