Rear, Top view
Shows rear diff cover and bumper & suspension mounting. Bumper, pivot blocks, and shock tower bolt on just as in xx-4. Note simplified sway bar mount. You can work on the rear diff by removing just 8 screws - 4 that hold on pivot blocks & shock tower, and 4 that hold on diff cover. |
 |
|
Rear, Bottom view
Shows rear suspension and bumper mounts identical to xx-4. This is a photo
of an early chassis when we still had a bump in the bottom to accomodate
our larger diff gear. Current production chassies are flat on the bottom
with .050" extra graphite material all the way across, strengthening
the area where the pivot blocks mount. |
 |
|
Front, Top view
Shows the front belt cover, steering and shock tower mounts. All these are xx-4 parts which bolt right on. The threaded inserts go into their normal spots. |
 |
|
Front, Bottom view
White bulkhead bolts right on. Note holes to bolt on bumper. |

|
Chassis Bottom
Shows lowered motor & batteries for improved C.O.G. and cooling. This
older photo shows the prototype aluminum bottom cover. Production units
have identical fiberglass-reinforced black covers. |

Josh Cyrul designed, CEFX produced ultra-high down-force body. Car is very stable in high speed corners. Air scoop for motor, combined with open chassis, allows max air flow. |
 |
|
Left side
Shows receiver, ESC, motor, and battery mounting. 4+2 bettery pack gives
weight distribution identical to xx-4 for best handling characteristics.
"Spektrum" receiver fits right in.

Close-up shows short, neat wiring. Motor
lugs are on top for soldering. Also shown is easy-to-adjust slipper. Production
cars have black fiberglass-reinforced top covers. Remove the four screws
holding the top cover and the complete slipper shaft pops out for easy
spur gear change. Belt adjustment does not change when you do this --
just pop the shaft back in and re-adjust the motor. Belt tension remains
unchanged. |

Right side
Shows servo mount and battery mounting. Antenna is off-set to clear the
servo arm. Complete xx-4 suspension and steering.
